How to apply an anti-cellulite cream

There is a wide range of products that promote the break-up of nodules of fat and contribute to recovering the firmness lost by cellulitis. However, it is true that the most important aspect with regard to these products in order for them to be truly effective is how we apply them to our skin.

Cellulitis is caused by the accumulation of fat deposits in a non-uniform manner, forming isolated nodules and it associated with a loss of firmness of the skin. To fight against it there are products with a lipolytic effect que that facilitate the break-up of fat contained in the subcutaneous tissue and promote its absorption and the recovery of the healthy structure of the skin.

Therefore, the objective is to recover skin tightness. To allow your skin to recover its firmness, follow our recommendations and you will increase the effectiveness when you apply the products. As such, you can make the most of all of their benefits:

  • Ensure that it is a good product: the best anti-cellulite creams include various characteristics and important components that have a direct influence on the final behaviour and take into account the physiology of the skin:
    • Easy absorption.
    • Lipolytic effect (remodelling and reduction): substances such as caffeine, Centella asiatica or carnitine promote this process.
    • Firming and tightening effect: it is not only important to break up the fat, but it is also important to promote the structure of the skin. Substances such as proteoglycans, hyaluronic acid or DMAE have this effect.
  • Prior exfoliation:
    • A deep clean before the application of the cream will help us boost its effect.
    • Let’s remember that the problem is in the subcutaneous tissue, almost one or two centimetres from the surface of the skin. Eliminating the cells of the corneal layer will help optimal absorption.
  • Application:
    • The skin must be prepared at room temperature: cold skin tends towards vasoconstriction and, with it, there is less of a likelihood of absorption.
    • Massaging is key during application:
      • Use an adequate amount for the area that you will be treating and rub by massaging in circles energetically until it penetrates fully.
      • The activation of tissues will occur and the active agents will be absorbed and reach the innermost layers of the skin, where the fat nodules are located.
    • There are small differences in accordance with the area in question:
      • Thighs: start the application at the front of the knee, pass the thigh and continue as far as the groin area.
      • Buttocks: go to the lower and external buttock portion and move up to the waist.
      • Abdomen: start with the periumbilical area and move in circles in a clockwise direction towards the external part. Then do it the other way round to reach the navel again.
      • Arms: begin from the back part of the elbow (triceps) and move up to the shoulders.
    • Normal use:
      • Consistency is very important so that the effect is decisive; if this is not carried out, we will only manage to get to the most superficial portion and not the area where the problem has its roots.
      • Use it once or twice a day (morning and night) for a minimum period of 3-4 weeks. To see the results, we must be patient.
      • Combine the treatment with a healthy diet and practise exercise regularly to boost the results.
    • Subsequent hydration:
      • Hydration is important after the application of the cream; if this is not carried out, the effect of the anti-cellulite cream will be practically zero, since it requires the skin to be prepared for absorption.
      • In fact, looking after your skin will favour the lipolytic So keep your skin clean and healthy.
